Honeysuckle Cottage

Honeysuckle Cottage has been the home of Susan and Mark Gunns and their daughters Beth and Lorna for the past nine years. Both girls were born in Cambridge. Mark is a product specialist with Volvo construction equipment and travels the “length and breadth” of the country and in Sweden, Europe and the U.S.A. Sue looks after the children and home.

Sue was born in Basingstoke, Hants, and Mark in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire.

Beth attends Burrough Green school as they prefer the Cambridgeshire education system. Lorna, at two, stays at home with Mum.

With Mark’s job entailing so much travelling he enjoys gardening and taking the children out for picnics when at home. The whole family enjoy swimming and Sue loves reading. Thurlow provides them with a lovely environment for the children, a garden which is not overlooked and friendly neighbours.

They feel the volume of traffic on the lanes and the speeding through the village despite the 30 m.p.h. limit are the negative aspects of living here.

Since moving here they have seen several new houses built, often improving the village, as in the house opposite replacing old builder’s sheds. They have altered their house to provide access through the top storey, built a dormer window and a new roof.
